Josée is a Transportation Safety Engineer with TNS. She is a professional engineer with 16 years of experience in traffic engineering. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, and a master’s degree in transportation engineering from the University of Toronto. She is a registered professional engineer in Ontario and Québec. She is also one of few people holding the Road Safety Professional Level 2 certification with both the infrastructure and behavioural specialties. Her transportation safety experience includes site safety and operations assessments, road safety audits, in-service road safety reviews, collision and conflict analysis, policy review and development, review of speed limits, and forensic investigations with respect to design, operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure.

Josée has completed over 100 safety assessments, road safety audits, and in-service road safety reviews for various types of transportation facilities, including corridors, intersections, active transportation facilities, and residential and commercial accesses. She is also experienced with all aspects of the roadway safety management process and systemic safety approaches.

Josée is a member of CARSP and ITE. She was recently part of the team who taught the Big Data and Emerging Traffic Technologies workshop for ITE Canada and part of the teaching team for the Pedestrian Facilities Safety and Risk Management Workshop for the Ontario Traffic Council. She was also retained to develop three workshop modules on road safety for the Global Road Safety Facility group of the World Bank, including road safety in geometric design, road safety at intersections and road safety through positive guidance. She has also taught Roadway Safety Management and Systemic Safety Approaches as part of a Fundamentals and Practical Applications of the AASHTO Highway Safety Manual course.
